ABSTRACT
The process of literary modernization in China and Vietnam had been taking place almost at the same time, from the last of the 19th century to the first part of the 20th century. In its specific – historical context, this process was perceived as the one of building up a new literature connecting closely with the internal socio–cultural movements in the both countries under the impacts of Western culture and civilization.
