Abstract
Among the pioneering writers composing in national language (quoc ngu), no one but Ho Bieu Chanh had a creative career familiar to the constitution and to the development of the Vietnamese literature written in national language. The attraction of the novels by Ho Bieu Chanh was that the novelist reached to modernization from tradition, which got much sympathy from the common readers. Then his novels, acquainted to the custom and the psychology of the Southern people, lived strongly and durably in the Southern minds.
