USSH Job Fair 2024 – Steady Steps to a Brighter Future

On May 8, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH, VNU-HCM) held the "USSH Job Fair 2024" as part of its "2024 Week of USSH Students and Employers." The event drew over 40 companies, offering nearly 1,000 job opportunities across various sectors, including tourism, economics, marketing, human resources, communications, foreign languages, project management, relationship management, and assistant roles, along with numerous internship opportunities with foreign companies.

The event was attended by Dr. Le Hoang Dung, Vice President of the University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Le Hoa Tranh, Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Orientation, along with representatives from various departments, faculties, companies, and over 1,000 students.

This year’s theme, “Steady Steps to a Brighter Future,” captures the mission of USSH JOB FAIR 2024. The event is designed to be a support hub for students, providing valuable guidance, industry insights, and expert advice to help them identify and navigate their career paths with confidence.

At the event, students had the opportunity to explore career options, network, and take part in on-the-spot interviews with over 40 companies from diverse sectors. Notable participants included ICD Information Technology JSC, PLUS Vietnam, Hoa Sen, Phuong Nam Education, TCL Vietnam, In Hospitality, Sheraton Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort & JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay, EXO Travel, FPT Software, FPT Telecom, Vinamilk, among many others.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Le Hoang Dung, Vice President of USSH, voiced his confidence that the Job Fair would greatly benefit students by helping them shape their career paths and open doors to new opportunities. He also expressed optimism that the event would positively impact the labor market by supplying companies with a well-trained and highly skilled workforce from the university's graduates.

As part of the event, the University held a signing ceremony with TCL Smart Device (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. and Teach for Vietnam Education Consulting Co., Ltd., formalizing new collaborative initiatives. These agreements open the door for mentoring programs, community-based projects, and internships, along with student ambassador roles and thesis opportunities with the companies. The partnerships also include joint seminars and talk shows on educational entrepreneurship and project management, benefiting both students and the faculty staff.

In addition to the job fair's employer-student connections, the talk show “Digital Content Creation: Did You Know?” drew considerable attention from students. The event featured Tran Dieu Linh, Head of Pladio Podcast at FPT Play, and Luu Anh Khoa, creator of the popular TikTok channel @Lenkycungkhoa, both of whom bring extensive experience in digital content creation. The discussion centered around career opportunities and provided valuable insights into the evolving landscape of this rapidly growing field.

The USSH Job Fair 2024 took a big step in linking students to the job market, creating valuable opportunities for career growth, and helping them shape their futures. Far from just another recruitment event, the fair allowed students to connect with top companies, explore different industries, and expand their professional networks. Through their participation, students not only uncovered job prospects but also acquired the essential skills and knowledge needed to thrive in their careers.
