- Other requirements of the knowledge, skills: Having some basic knowledge about the theory and history of literature, basic skills of reading comprehension, literary analysis, being acquainted with some of the Western literatures.
- Course Overview
During this course the students are provided with basic knowledge of:
- Chinese literature in the geographical, historical and cultural context
- Development of Chinese literature from its beginning to modern time;
- Most representative authors and their works;
- Influences of Chinese literature to modern Vietnamese literature..
7. Course Objectives and Expected Learning Outcomes:
- The course aims to provide students with the basic knowledge of Chinese literature in particular as well as of the world culture in general (ELO1, ELO4, ELO5). It also gives the students a wider perspective to Vietnamese literature by comparing it with the literature of other country (ELO3)
- After completing the course, students can:
+ memorize the basic information (name of the author, works, literary periods ...) (ELO6);
+ analyze the meaning of the works, the role ofChinese writers and some Chineseliterary trends, literary genres; ELO7
+ apply the knowledge of Chinese literature to relate with Vietnamese literature. ELO7
+ learn the way of individual and group working; be confident, responsible ELO15

- Course policies
- Student have to attend class at least 80% class hours and fulfill all the course the requirements including: reading materials at home, participation in group work, taking quiz and final exam.
- The quiz is taken in the class as part of midterm test.
- The group works including written essay and oral presentation are taken at home and in class as part of midterm test.
- The final exam is taken according to the FLL examination schedule by the end of the semester.
